ALL DRESSED UP IN LOVE
Snowman pins and pink butterfly bows are my accessories today
Surprises from my little boys one early Christmas day
Their innocent hearts filled up with pride as I put them on
As I looked in their beautiful eyes, their happiness was shown
They picked them out just for me with no help from another
It wasn't the price that caught their eyes just genuine love for mother
God gave to me these priceless gifts, He gave them to no other
So when people laugh and look at me and say "What do you have on?"
I'll know within my heart no greater love is shown
I'm not rich in worldly things and truly that's ok
No diamond rings or fancy pearls I wear in my array
Money can't buy the finest things like simple childlike faith
When I'm looking bad they say "OH, Mommy, you look great!"
And when I go out in my simple things no richer could I be
I'm all dressed up in love, you see, I'm all dressed up in love.
I am married and have three wonderful boys, ages 10, 7, and 2. I am a stay-at-home mom and homemaker. I love to read, write and play the piano in my spare time. I grew up in the south and have always enjoyed the simple things in life. I dream of becoming a published author someday. I have written several poems. What inspires me is family and loved ones. I have three beautiful boys and they are my priceless joys. My husband and I take them shopping at Christmas and on special occasions and let them pick out their own gifts for us all by themselves. These gifts are priceless and no matter what they are or what they look like we show them off with great pride. That is what inspired me to write this poem.
