This week's Funny Quotes:

"A kitten is chiefly remarkable for rushing about like mad at nothing whatever, and generally stopping before it gets there." -Agnes Repplier

"Cats are notoriously sore losers. Coming in second best, especially to someone as poorly coordinated as a human being, grates their sensibility." -Stephen Baker

"When I play with my cat, who knows whether she is not amusing herself with me more than I with her." -Montaigne

Being a mother of children who do things like this, I thought Pat's story to be hilarious!

Rub On Teeth?
by Pat Lowe

Linda, our middle daughter, loved to collect small items when she was a young child. Her dad commented on the way she slowed them down while they were walking the dog in the unpaved alleys in our neighborhood. It seems she was always walking along looking down at the ground for possible treasures; a colorful piece of broken glass, a pretty rock, a button...anything that caught her eye. She would stop, pick something up, look it over, and tuck it away safely in one of her pockets.

One evening, after our daughters were tucked in bed, I decided to wash  Linda's coat. While performing usual ritual of emptying her pockets. I found many valuable "collectibles", including one of those clear wax pencils from our small local cleaners that are used to un-stick zippers. The instructions read "To un-stick zippers, rub on teeth." Linda was always doing funny things in those days, and I was curious about how she would interpret those instructions. When I looked at that slightly used wax pencil, I asked her dad if he thought she had tried to use it.
The next morning I asked her about the pencil, and if it worked.

She said "Not very well, I rubbed it on my teeth but the zipper didn't work any better".

Linda still does some funny little things at the age of 45. The next time she comes for a visit, I think I'll check her pockets.
