Kenzie
by Kay Jones

My 3-yr old granddaughter, Kenzie cut her hair again for the 4th time in 2 years.

She was just beginning to get it into "puppy" ears.  It would be just about right for recital time in May.  Her mom had left the scissors on the table and left the house.  Kenzie got the scissors and cut her bangs right up to the scalp.  When her dad saw her, he said, Kenzie, you were just talking about wanting long hair, why did you cut it?  She replies with her hands and arms open and shoulders shrugged, "I didn't cut it down here (length), I just cut it here because my bangs were in the way."

Her dad took her to Colorado with him and naturally had to explain the haircut to his family and they said, "Kenzie, are you going to cut hair when you grow up?"

Kenzie replied with arms open, "I already did."

Kay is a Mother of 3, with 7 grandchildren!  She spends much of her time with her grandkids and loves it! She is the Local Coordinator of an international organization called Community Bible Study and has been for 10 years.  Kay takes Adult tap twice a week and line dancing twice a week.  She and her husband are part owners of Jones Mechanical Contractors and SW Superior Building--and she's fun and adorable!

The Letter Box:

2TheHeart,
I just read the story of Anne Goodrich A Letter to her
daughter...it was very good...As a single mom raising
children on my own for the past fifteen years I can
relate with her when their is no money left for stuff
the children want...My children are also great kids,
and they too went without stuff but still happy go
lucky children...As my eldest son told me once...It's
not the material things that count...its the times you
held me when I was frightened, the time you kissed my
boo boos, the many hugs and kisses and special
touches that counts to me Mom...that child is now
--19-- and on his own but the words are forever etched
in my mind...Evonne/Hillsdale, Mi

Dear Susan,
Anne's story went right 2THEHEART!  Being a mom, I know the sacrifices we make and how we want to give our children the world!  Anne showed very poignantly how a mother's heart longs to give our kids their wishes!  Thanks for a perfect story!
