When I Cry  (Inspired by Susan)

I've often wondered, and still I try,

To understand why it is I sometimes cry.

When I hear God's word, meant just for me,

Or that special hymn or song, that touches me.

These tears of which I speak, must they be sad?

Is it not possible they're because I'm so glad?

Or could they be in praise of joy I have known?

Or witnessing the harvest of His word previously sown?

I've known triumphs and trials and now understand,

That I may weep when touched by the Master's hand.

Remembering He paid with His own blood in full,

The debts I owed, He sacrificed to make them null.

So these tears are wrought of joy and love my friend,

For I know that when this earthly journey comes to an end.

Then at the gathering inside Heavens gates I'll truly rejoice,

For all of eternity to ever feel His touch and hear His voice!
