Dear Mom,

Mother's Day is right around the corner, thus, making me more aware of how much you mean to me. I've always known you were pretty darn special, well, we may have to exclude some of my teenage years.....we know how ungrateful teens can be. :-) I look back at my childhood in astonishment. You rarely lost your temper, always had a smile on your face, and loved all your kids with no conditions, no matter what we did wrong. I have more respect for you than I know how to put into words. I only hope I'm half the mother you are.

To me you are the Eighth Wonder of the World. What an amazing woman.

Hi Mom,
You're an amazing mother-in-law and certainly have filled the void since my mom died. You also were a comfort when she was going through Alzheimer's. What fun we had the other day celebrating your 94th birthday. You've always been an inspiration to me as you've experienced joys and sadness in life. As a mother to eight boys and now mom, grandmother, and grandma GG to a family of nearly 75, you've affected many lives and have influenced many more that you've come in contact with throughout your years.

Dear Gran,
It's been 18 years since your daughter and my mom died. It's been a long road of healing for both of us. Even though you must have been devastated at losing your only daugher, you stepped right in and took over for her. You hid your tears and heartache and comforted us through ours. Your two granddaughters became instant daughters and now that I have a baby of my own, I marvel that you did this with seemingly little sacrifice and effort. You never complained at the change in your life's plans, never resented the sudden burden of raising kids again. I know Mom must smile down on your with angel tears of gratitude for your role in our lives. If she couldn't be here to raise us, there is no one on earth better for the job. There just aren't words for what an amazing woman you are! You are so courageous and have fought many battles throughout my lifetime. Seeing you never giving up and fighting for the rights of your "handicapped" daughter taught me to be strong too. You taught me to never say I can't and to believe in myself. There is no greater gift than this. I was so blessed that God made you my mother and that Daddy is my father. I know many people who don't have such a supportive family -- I thank God every day for you both!
