Waiting...
by Linda Elliot-George
What are you waiting for!?
Did you wait for your baby to talk and walk?
Wait for your mate to treat you like they ought?
How many times have you spent waiting?
When you really should have been 'contemp-praying?.
It's easy to stake our hopes on the future.
We don't have to think we might be the loser.
When we spend our time just waiting
Sometimes it's action we should be taking!
We wait for the sunshine, another day wait for rain.
We have no choice in nature's gifts because the gift tags signed God's name.
Do we have to wait for happiness?
When we know our life is one big mess?
Sometimes we need to clear the track
Make a decision and don't look back.
Do we think in waiting we're avoiding a decision?
Indecision is the lock on our own stagnant prison.
We may fall to our knees begging and pleading.
Will God think, My instruction book you should have been reading?
Don't wait for your wants and needs to pile high.
Before you clasp your hands and look on high.
Take stock of what is here right now!
Give Praise and thanks and shout out loud!
Don't wait for your variety of perfection?
Our Lord may think it's his rejection.
