| My Discovery: Childless, Yet Cherished by David L. White
I share with you my inner thoughts In things which I've had dealings, For these are things I've lived with And had to sort out my feelings. Though I've been married for so long And a Christian couple are we, We tried for years, children to have But for us, this was not to be.
At first it seemd so ironic That in this we should be denied, For what better home could children have Than with parents, whom in Christ resides?
Our efforts were all so futile Though prayerful and were well meant, We had Asked, and Sought and Knocked Yet no children to us were sent.
What should we make of these matters - Should anger and despair fill our soul? Tho' these may be Natural reactions Instead we sought, 'Lord, make us whole!'
And here are some things we've discovered God's thoughts and our thoughts were not one, What we thought needed to complete us The Lord for us had already begun.
For starters, He'd giv'n us each other And a Faith that would carry us through, Not walking by 'sight' but the Spirit And thus opening new avenues.
We've found in our years together Though Childless we have remained, Our sense of Self and Worth and Joy Through 'Thy will be done,' to us came.
And this we know from experience And this you will find to be true, When God says 'No' and closes a door Many others, He'll open for you.
God bless your saddened hearts, aching - He Knows of your heart-felt orrows, But trust in His Love, accepting His will And He'll open up Brighter Tomorrows!

The Love Bird's Anniversary
(Today, March 19,2000, David & Linda White are celebrating their 29 years together as husband and wife. This is the anniversary poem I wrote, to commemorate our life together.)
Twenty-nine years ago today - Two Love Birds made their nest, To soar the heigths together - And wing as one,Life's test.
They gathered twigs of kindness -And feathered their nest with God's Love; Their solo flights were over, Together, felt Heaven's Hug.
They Sang life's Song in harmony And each one sang for the other; Each possessing unique abilities They shared as birds of a feather.
They witnessed many storms of life - And discordant sometimes they were; But soon again the storms blew o'er And again they'd chirp with cheer.
No little tweeties to the nest were giv'n - But they were blessed in many ways, And thank the good Lord up above - Being the focus of their praise.
God Bless our nest, our happy home - So far by Thee, Good we've known And bless each day of life ahead; How swiftly the years have flown!
Twenty-nine years ago today - Two Love Birds flew as one, May we e'er together fly until our setting sun.
