God's House

I was visiting with a friend the other day

And invited him to Church on Sunday, oh by the way

And the reply he offered, I thought it quite odd

He said, I don't need a Church to visit with God

Now I know in part that this is right, and true

Cause God did form the earth, and then me and you

And I know he commands the whole universe

That's what the Bible says, scripture and verse

But still, his statement caused me to wonder

And on the following thoughts, let us ponder

If you're ever in need of a broken bone to be set

It won't be a plumber you call, on that I'll make a bet

And for all the goods that in hardware stores are

They'll look at you funny, if you ask to buy a car

Fresh fruit and vegetables are found where

At any good produce market, I do declare

Why just the other day, in need of some bread

I found it in the bakery aisle, right where the sign said

Do you think it could be said of the above

That there is a message and it's meant with love

Some things in life require serious thought

And with regard to this, I think we ought

For while many might know that He is ruler of all

It's through His Church, that we best serve His call

If we really want to get to know God

Then maybe, visiting His house isn't so odd

HEARTS OF GOLD

From the day we're born and our journey starts
We have free will to choose the path of our hearts

God desires our heart as the Mother Lode
Jesus paid the price to claim this eternal Gold

Fire processes and clarifies this gold
And has since the very days of old

Our God is an awesome and consuming fire
Satan knows this is true and it causes him ire

Satan stokes and tends to the fires of Hell
God cast him from Heaven and there he fell

God's loving fire will reveal your gold
And with it a testimony of His glory will unfold

Satan's furnace can also try your gold
But in return he will own your soul

The choice is yours and yours alone
This thought should chill you to the bone

Give God your heart and soul to own
And with that gold He will form a crown

Let the devil have his say with this Gold
Spend eternity in Hell and it's yours to hold!
