God's House
I was visiting with a friend the other day
And invited him to Church on Sunday, oh by the way
And the reply he offered, I thought it quite odd
He said, I don't need a Church to visit with God
Now I know in part that this is right, and true
Cause God did form the earth, and then me and you
And I know he commands the whole universe
That's what the Bible says, scripture and verse
But still, his statement caused me to wonder
And on the following thoughts, let us ponder
If you're ever in need of a broken bone to be set
It won't be a plumber you call, on that I'll make a bet
And for all the goods that in hardware stores are
They'll look at you funny, if you ask to buy a car
Fresh fruit and vegetables are found where
At any good produce market, I do declare
Why just the other day, in need of some bread
I found it in the bakery aisle, right where the sign said
Do you think it could be said of the above
That there is a message and it's meant with love
Some things in life require serious thought
And with regard to this, I think we ought
For while many might know that He is ruler of all
It's through His Church, that we best serve His call
If we really want to get to know God
Then maybe, visiting His house isn't so odd
