Angel On Wheels
by Travis Beck
Angels, Angels, Angels, Everywhere,
Why don't we see them if they are everywhere?
Is it because we are hesitant to believe?
Angels announced the coming of Christ.
Can we believe in Christ, and not believe in angels?
We think of angels in a spiritual form,
Hovering over us here on earth,
With wide spread wings,
Keeping us in their protection.
Are angels only there in a spirit form?
I think not!
I believe that angels appear daily to people,
In their time of need, in their time of grief or sorrow.
Not in the spiritual form but in the human flesh.
Angels are loving, caring, and protective.
Don't we find those around us,
That have these same qualities?
So there are many angels,
That appear to have no wings to see.
I know an angel that God has put on wheels.
You don't see her wings, but they are there.
Others know that she is an angel,
As well as a friend and sister in the Lord.
The first thing that some people see,
Is the wheel chair that she occupies.
Most see the bright, cheery smile,
That God has given her.
A bright smile that is uplifting to all about.
She is quick to laugh with you, not at you,
Showing that life can be happy,
When there is a true love for God and his creations.
Because she is happy in the Lord,
She wants to share that happiness.
As this angel on wheels comes your way,
Be prepared to meet one that has a care for you.
She is sensitive to others, in their time of need.
Always ready to give a comforting word,
Or encouragement that is needed in that moment
She has the Lord's love for little children.
The children feel this, and return it in kind.
She sees the newborn child in its parents' arms,
She smiles and her heart swells,
A new member of God's kingdom has arrived.
This angel on wheels can also feel hurt and pain.
She herself has felt the hurt and pain caused by others.
Because of this, the Lord has made her,
Sensitive and aware of the hurt and pain of others.
She is there with His love to share.
As she goes along her way,
Spreading God's love and caring kindness,
People tend to forget that this is a young girl in a wheel chair,
What they remember is the glow of her love of God,
And the life He has given her, even on wheels.
I thank God for this angel on wheels.
You see, she has been a part of my life,
For the past twenty-one years.
I see the wings daily, the wings that move the wheels.
She occupies a wheel chair,
But she also occupies my home.
Most of all, she occupies my heart!
She sits in her wheel chair, like a throne,
Always sharing the love of God with all.
When she meets God in heaven,
She will have the wings, no need for the wheels.
And God will say, "Welcome Home, My Angel On Wheels".
