THE RISE AND FALL
by John Schmoyer
There is a certain flood reminder that God places before us all - A day to day experience to learn and relearn tear down and build up a pleasant ease injecting strength a harsh reality twisting frailty.
Funny this come up from behind - sending warning signals toward the brain slow motion, heart stopping an out of nowhere glance of what it once was and how we now might react.
Cross one way - the rope frays a sturdy will Lean another - the soul trips on a sturdy grace For eyes are tender moments that work about the room and hearts they sag with sorrow when bent like silver spoon.
To straighten up and fly right with candor and telling truth To hide between the shadows where secrets often loom is but a certain flood reminder placed before us all when God does test our faith to check ... the rise and fall.

A WILD BURST
by John Schmoyer
She dampens My dry thirst. In scratchy dreams There is a wild burst. Eyes they pop, Hearts they beat and drop When night falls.
How is it Sleep sparks a want, a will O' there is such a thrill About life that masks An everyday wonder, A wonder as to why, Why it is Thirst is an everyday Wild burst?
